Queen of the Faire Forever — Bess of Hardwick Set (Black & Gold)
Gown not included
Elizabeth "Bess" of Hardwick rose from modest beginnings to become one of the wealthiest and most powerful women in Elizabethan England — through four strategic marriages, sharp business sense, and the building of Hardwick Hall, one of the great houses of the age. Before she was a Countess commanding vast estates, she was a young noblewoman navigating the same court, the same fashions, the same ambitions as any woman of her time.
This set imagines the kind of gown a young Bess might have worn as she rose through the ranks of Elizabethan society: bold black and gold, striking and unmistakably regal. I used my finest gold cording on the prototype so this one is not only perfect -- the work of an experienced embroiderer but its dazzling in person.
What's an underskirt panel set?
This isn't a full garment — it's a set of richly embroidered panels made to be sewn or tied onto a gown you already own (or one being made for you): an underskirt panel, sleeves, and a bodice front. Think of them as the jewelry of your gown — the pieces that catch every eye across the room, and totally unique. I'm the only one in the world making these in real gold and silver.
The Set Includes:
- 1 Underskirt Panel — 43 inches long
- 1 Pair of Sleeves — 26 inches long, tie-on style, size XL (customer trims to fit)
- 1 Bodice Front — 12 inches matching design
Please note: The prototype shown features sleeves from my Lady Anne design. Your finished set will include sleeves matching the bodice front and underskirt panel shown here.
